Introduction

Project Bono believes in providing students with the tools and resources they need to make informed health decisions. It's why we provide our Nicotine Awareness & Prevention class to students who have been caught vaping at school. Students who enroll in our program will not only learn about the risks and dangers of nicotine use, but also how to quit and avoid future use.

Addressing Youth Vaping Epidemic

Educators must be better prepared than ever to address the youth vaping epidemic. More than 2 million middle and high school students use e-cigarettes, according to the 2021 National Youth Tobacco Survey. We understand that this can result in frequent class interruptions for certain students and cause an overall decrease in student focus. That's why our Nicotine Awareness & Prevention class is designed to give students the tools and resources they need to focus on quitting nicotine outside of class and avoid future use.

Training Educators on School E-Cig Policies

Educators must also be adequately trained on school e-cigarette policies, which is one of the most important steps in preventing youth vaping. Our Nicotine Awareness & Prevention class is designed to give teachers the information and resources they need to understand the epidemic and help sympathize with students to understand the risks and dangers of nicotine use. With our program, educators will be better equipped to provide students with the support and resources they need to quit and avoid future use.

Responding to Students with Support, Not Punishment

At Project Bono, we believe in responding to students who have been caught vaping with support, not punishment. We understand that suspension or expulsion can cause even more problems at school, leading to lower test scores and graduation rates. That's why our Nicotine Awareness & Prevention class is designed to provide students with a positive, modern approach to quitting and preventing further use.

Introduce All Students to Vaping Prevention and Quit Programs

To assist young people in refraining from using tobacco on school grounds, it is critical to introduce all students, even before an incident, to vaping prevention and quit programs. Our Nicotine Awareness & Prevention class is intended for all students, not just those who have been caught vaping, to use in the classroom. This enables us to reach all students and provide them with the information and resources they need to make informed health decisions.

Help Students Quit Using Tobacco

At Project Bono, we understand that the best way to help students quit using tobacco is to provide them with the resources and support they need. That's why we offer our Nicotine Awareness & Prevention class and our This is Quitting program, a free and anonymous texting program that helps young people quit vaping.

In addition to providing students with the tools and resources they need to quit, Project Bono will contribute 25% of all enrollment proceeds from students assigned/directed to our program back into the school. This allows us to not only help students quit and prevent further use, but also support the school and community.

At Project Bono, we believe in addressing the youth vaping epidemic with support and resources, not punishment. Our Nicotine Awareness & Prevention class is designed to provide students with the tools and resources they need to quit and prevent further use, while also supporting the school and community. We are committed to helping students make informed decisions about their health and well-being. Learn more about our Nicotine Awareness & Prevention class at projectbono.com/course/nicotine.
