Certificate Authenticity Measures at Project Bono

We recognize how important it is to guarantee that certificates are authentic and cannot be forged, fabricated, or counterfeit. To do this, we have put in place a number of safeguards to prevent fraud and ensure the integrity of our certificates of completion.

Certificate Contents

Every certificate generated by Project Bono includes the following information: course title and time requirement, student's name, birth date, address, date of completion, and instant PDF download (ready for print and email). This information is unique to each certificate and cannot be duplicated or edited.

Watermarking

To prevent editing of names, dates, time requirements, etc. each certificate features a watermark. The watermark is a transparent design that is embedded into the certificate's background making it harder to remove or alter the certificate's content without it being noticeable.

Verification Link

In addition to the watermark, each certificate also features a verification link. This link allows assignors to instantly download a native and untampered copy of the certificate from our database. By doing so, they can verify the authenticity of the certificate and ensure that it has not been tampered with. The verification link is also useful for those unable to attach PDFs due to software, hardware, or internet limitations. The link can be copied and sent to the assignor.

Hard Inquiries for Court Stakeholders

We understand that court stakeholders may need to verify the authenticity of an individual's completion status. To meet this need, we offer hard inquiries that can be requested by authorized court personnel. These inquiries involve thorough database searches to confirm an individual's completion status, and we take every precaution to ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of this information. We want to assure our users and partners that we will never report personal information or completion status to insurers or creditors, as we value our users' privacy.
